This is my first CBP Bible, and it exceeded expectations. The first thing I noticed was the gilding. The silver is beautiful, but the slight blue art gilding actually blows my mind. It’s so cool looking and I was not expecting to see any sort of art gilding. The lambskin is very soft and smells great. The smell reminds me of an old-school hardware store.
My only complaint so far (and it’s not really a complaint) is that the Bible doesn’t want to lay flat unless you are in psalms basically. If you are in Genesis it will pretty much shut itself. But that stiffness is a tradeoff for durability, and I am sure that it will break in over time.
I was worried that the 8.5 font would be hard to read, but the font is very bold and readable. I’m glad I got the hand-size versus the mid-size. I used to read from a text Bible and it took my eyes several minutes to get used to the narrow columns of text with the center reference column. Once I got used to that I fell in love with the layout. The center references take you on a journey through the Bible and add so much depth to what you are reading.
Having a high quality Bible makes studying the Word so much more enjoyable!

This is the PERFECT Bible for me. It’s very easy to carry and hold, the leather is the SOFTEST leather I’ve ever felt, and the formatting is perfect for reading and note taking. This Bible checks every box if you’re looking to read or study. The Bible itself is superior in craftsmanship and quality. This is from a guy who owns Cambridge, Holman, Concord Scofield, and Thomas-Nelson Bibles.

First Bible from CBP and I’m sure it will not be the last. Also the first lambskin Bible I have owned.
Not quite as flexible as I would like on the cover, but very soft.
Overall for the price you pay, you are getting a super quality Bible. Very happy

I have ordered many Bibles from CBP, but never one in Lambskin. I love the Water Buffalo and it is my favorite. It is tough and durable and very beautiful. The Goatskin is not supple at all, but it is tough as nails. It does scratch easy though. The Top Grain Cowhide feels good in the hand and shows a good amount of grain. The Calfskin is my least favorite, but I still like it. It is smooth and flexible with little to no grain and it scratches very easy.
The Lambskin by comparison is also smooth like the Calfskin, but there is some grain. It feels nice in the hand. This particular model has silver gidling which makes the pages look gray when opened. It is a nice touch, especially with two red ribbons. The text itself is a 8.5 font that is dark and readable. There is a bit more ghosting with this edition than any other Bible I have received from CBP. The print is also broken in many places and the Epistle Dedicatory and noticeably broken. Must be the ancient typeset that is used. It is readable, but this might be an issue for some.
Also, this is the first edition I’ve received from CBP that does not lay flat no matter how much I work with it. I have tried to break the Bible in, but it still slams shut even in Exodus. I am a little disappointed. Perhaps it will get better with time.
Overall for the price it is a great Bible and I am happy with my purchase. There are a few things I don’t like, but I don’t regret the purchase. I plan on buying more Bibles from CBP.
