I ordered the Thinline after debating whether or not I would be able to read the font size (9) with my old eyes. I decided to give it a try and am glad that I did. Though the font is smaller than what I would normally order, it is very readable in the format in which it is done. The Bible itself lives up to it’s name ‘Thinline’ as it’s slightly less than 1″ thick. It has ample margins if you wanted to jot notes down and the paper is very good. The overall footprint of the Bible is slightly larger than I would want but It’s fine. I would actually like to see this Bible done just as it is but with a normal margin to make it smaller for carry and travel. Just an Idea! The quality of the construction is impeccable as are my other CBP Bibles. The staff at CBP are friendly and their mission is God honoring. Their mission for the Church to produce quality and affordable Bibles is why I buy them.

A Word about the ‘Premium Bible Market’ and the Facebook Forums. This is just a brief testimony about my experience and no one elses. For years, I had been in the ‘Premium Bible World’ and the ‘Forums’ on Facebook. It took the Lord to help me to realize that I was caught up in a pursuit that did not honor Him nor His Word. It came to the point that I was putting Binding, nice corner work, paper opacity, ribbon length, finding the ‘Unicorn Bible’ and other things above the actual words in the text! I spent money that I did not have and got in debt many times just to get what the latest trend was. Not everyone in the Forums does this, but most do. The other ‘premium Bibles’ are very good quality and are a pleasure to own and read – but when ownership of certain ones and stacks of Bibles begin to look like the ‘Tower of Babel’ something is wrong. Those forums can be a breeding ground for all kinds of spiritual problems. I realized that I was had a problem, confessed it to the Lord and left the forums and have enjoyed my walk with the Lord much, much more these days.

Thank you again, CBP for making good quality and affordable Bibles for the Church!

Wow! I’ve found my new preaching bible!
I usually use an Allan 43 Longprimer but it’s a reference bible with a lot of distractions and having old doesn’t help with that.
I really like the clean text free of distractions with a large enough font that I don’t have to pick it up from the pulpit to see the words. The cover is superb, very flexible yet it’s firm enough to hold in one hand and and carry around. This bible lays flat right out of the box and after completing a couple “librarian” passes to break in the the edge tabs it relaxed well. Plenty of margin to make notes, ghosting nil with a very nice feeling paper I would say is in the 32-34gsm. It is a smooth paper but I don’t find it shiny or glaring.
If you’re looking for a preaching bible or just a simple reading bible look no further. You won’t be disappointed.
